Yes, we are fully licenced and approved by Alberta Health Services. We provide the signed “permission to use” agreements and proof-of-address documentation required to secure or renew your food handling permit in Alberta.

For food makers, caterers, etc., we offer flexible monthly packages, tiered based on the number of hours you need. Hourly rates range from $20-$40 per hour, depending on your monthly commitment.
For food trucks: we charge a minimum annual fee of $1000 + GST for base-of-operations registration. This includes up to 25 hours of rental time in our facility, should you need it. Additional kitchen use and storage are available for a fee. -
We charge a minimum annual “retainer” fee of $1000 to work with us - that is, you must pre-pay for $1000 worth of rent. Hours/storage that you use will be deducted from this retainer until it’s fully spent; then, we’ll invoice you monthly.
Renters who wish to use our meat processing equipment must pay a $2000 damage deposit, refundable if you decide to leave Scale Kitchens.
We do not charge any other deposits; however, you must hold a minimum of $2MM in commercial liability insurance to rent our facility. -
We have multiple kitchen bays with commercial infrastructure including walk-in refrigeration, stainless work tables, combi ovens, induction cooktops, steam kettles, blenders/food processors, meat smoker, sausage-making equipment, and more. Our facility features 24/7 keycard or keypad access, allowing your crew to prep overnight, early in the morning or unload and wash your dishes late after events.

We assign dedicated, rentable space in our walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, and dry storage shelves so your inventory remains safe and separated from other vendors. Flexible storage options are available for a monthly fee.

We use a self-serve app called Skedda, allowing you or your staff to schedule your time in any of our 4 rental bays. Booking can be made months in advance, and frequent users can set recurring weekly booking times. You only pay for what you use - if you finish early, you can adjust your booking time accordingly.

To get started, you will need a valid business license, food handler certifications for your staff, proof of commercial general liability insurance, and to fill out our full application form. Once we receive the $1000 retainer fee payment, we will issue you a “permission to use” form for AHS. Then, we will get you set up on our self-serve booking app so you can schedule your kitchen time.

Just like renting an apartment, you must clean up after yourself within the time you’ve paid for. Kitchens must be left in a fully clean state after your booking; please schedule enough time for yourself to clean up. Our team handles weekly deep-cleans to keep the facilities spotless.

Our facilities include dedicated fresh potable water fill stations, greywater discharge pumps, and commercial grease disposal traps that can be utilized by mobile food vendors/trucks renting our facility.
